AbbVie has reported topline results from the P-III (INTREPID) study evaluating lutikizumab, an investigational dual-variable-domain IL-1α/1β antagonist, in adults & adolescents with moderate to severe hidradenitis suppurativa (HS); 1,400 pts were randomized (1:1) to lutikizumab SC or PBO, & the study met its 1EP & 8 ranked 2EPs
Lutikizumab achieved HiSCR75 at Wk16 (31.4% vs 23.4%; pā¤0.001) vs PBO; at Wk8, pts achieved NRS3 (26.2% vs 15.0%) & NRS30 (36.0% vs 22.8%) (p<0.0001 for both), with fewer pts experiencing HS flares during the first 16wks (18.4% vs 28.1%; p<0.0001); it was generally well tolerated with no new safety concerns
Data will be presented at a future medical congress; additional data, incl. results from a 36wk blinded extension period, are expected in 2027 & will be used to support regulatory submissions for lutikizumab in HS in the 2H of the year. AbbVie also plans to evaluate lutikizumab with ABBV-295 & potentially ABBV-701 via its HS platform study
